What Is the SlimBOX Firmware?

SlimBOX is a third-party firmware for TV boxes with Amlogic S912, S922X, S905X2, or S905X3 chipsets. It has two flavors: one is based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and the other, Android TV (ATV). Its current Android version is Android 9.0 (Pie).
The SlimBOX project is the work of a talented Russian developer group named SlimHouse. It has since gathered a huge following among TV box enthusiasts around the world. And they share their user experiences and technical know-how on the XDA Developers Forum. The overall feedback is very positive. Many that have flashed SlimBOX on their TV boxes have expressed their amazement at how much faster it runs than the original factory stock. What is equally impressive is its rich set of features and settings that the original system lacks.
