TZ21-M Voice Air Mouse User’s Guide

PLEASE NOTE: This guide only applies to the version of TZ21-M we sell, which has 10 IR-learning keys. There are other TZ21 versions on the market. They may have slightly different key layouts and functions.

2.4GHz Wireless

The TZ21-M remote control uses the 2.4GHz wireless band to send input to the host device (TV box, computer, etc.) where the USB receiver is plugged in. The input data include keypresses, mouse movements and clicks, and audio input through the microphone. The host device must be on for the USB wireless receiver to work.

Programmable Infrared (IR) Keys

You can also use TZ21-M as a universal remote control and program the top 3 rows as 10 infrared (IR) keys to control additional devices such as a TV or a stereo system. Once a key is programmed as an IR key, it will no longer function as wireless key for the USB receiver. And the IR key will require a line of sight from the IR emitter (located at the top of the remote) to the device it controls.

The POWER key is always an IR key, and it is initially programmed to work with the TV boxes we sell. And that is because any wireless key requires the host device to have power to work. If the TV box is off, you would need the POWER key as an IR key in order to turn the box on.

Programming IR Keys (IR Learning)

To program TZ21-M by making it learn from other IR remote controls, follow these simple steps:

  1. Press and hold one of the programmable keys (such as RED) for 6 seconds till the LED light changes from being solid red to flashing slowly. TZ21-M is now in the IR learning mode.
  2. Place the other IR remote control head to head with TZ21-M at about 2-3 centimeters apart. Press a button on the other IR remote control. If TZ-21 successfully receives the corresponding IR code, its LED light will flash rapidly. And if it doesn’t receive any IR code within 15 seconds, the slow flashing LED light will automatically turn off, canceling the IR learning mode.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to program additional keys, if necessary.

Factory Reset (IR Clearing)

To erase all learned IR codes and restore the default factory settings, press and hold POWER + BACK keys together for 3 seconds. The LED light will flash rapidly a few times, indicating the factory reset is now complete. The POWER key will go back to its original IR code. And all other previously programmed IR keys will go back to being wireless keys.

Using the Air Mouse Feature

TZ21-M can uses its internal gyroscope to generate mouse pointer input. Press the MOUSE key once to turn on the air mouse feature. Then wave the remote control in your hand to control the onscreen mouse cursor. Press the MOUSE key again to turn the feature off.

Using the Microphone and Voice Commands

The embedded microphone in TZ21-M (located between POWER and MUTE) works wirelessly with the USB receiver. And it is always on. If the system or app you are using can accept voice commands or search phrases by speech, simply talk to the microphone to give verbal input. Pressing the big blue MIC key will invoke the Google Assistant feature in Android.
